Tutor:

Female learner 2:

Si rimane soltanto la legge, ma quella gente non vengono più mangiare all'agriturismo.

Tutor:

Students in these role plays can express their own opinions, they can have their own personality. This can give them the chance to put something quite personal, not only structural within the language but very personal. There's a style you learn when you speak a foreign language and you have to give yourself this style, you have to teach yourself this style and I think these role plays can help in this process which is a quite high level process.

Male learner 1:

Ancora, questo processo è stato una farsa.

Voiceover:

This learner is a member of the panel giving the case for the defence.

Male learner 1:

Licenza di mangiare pane, dobbiamo avere una legge di vivere

Tutor:

Anche per l'aria che respiriamo.

Male learner 1:

Sì, l'aria, per mangiare l'aria, bere l'aria.

Female learner 3:

In questo caso, la gente ha comprato il pane nell'ignoranza di questa legge e i Sabatoni hanno venduto il pane ignorando anche loro.

Voiceover:

Tutor:

Learners:

Tutor:

Tutor:

Allora, mi sembra che vince la linea non dura, ma durissima.

Learner:

It's very good. It gets people really talking.

Learner:

It's nice to be able to start thinking in Italian as opposed to English, you simply haven't got time you're so engrossed into the activities of the class you have to think in Italian naturally.
