Assessment practice
This resource is intended for use within a managed Continuing professional development (CPD) session. It will help tutors and Subject Learning Coaches work together to develop effective assessment strategies for their learners and extend their practice. There are three activities, each with sample session plans, handouts and slides. They may be offered in any order at the facilitator's discretion. It may be helpful to allow independent learning time between activities. The activities are:
- reviewing initial assessment practice
- developing formative and summative assessment practice; and
- defining achievement in your area of learning.
Management commitment to organisational change is an essential for these activities to be fully successful.
